Oracle Press Release

Outsourcing Inc. Implements Private Cloud Infrastructure with Oracle SPARC SuperCluster T4-4

Company is First in Japan to Deploy Multi-Purpose Engineered System Running Oracle Solaris 11

Redwood Shores, Calif. – September 26, 2012

News Facts

Oracle today announced Outsourcing Inc., which operates a worldwide employment outsourcing business, has implemented a private cloud using an Oracle SPARC SuperCluster T4-4 engineered system.
The first company in Japan to implement SPARC SuperCluster T4-4, Outsourcing Inc. runs manufacturing and administrative operations outsourcing businesses. With 13 subsidiaries in Japan as well as 13 overseas locations, Outsourcing has over 10,000 employees and its sales for the period ending December 2011 reached a record high 32.3 billion Yen.
With the SPARC SuperCluster T4-4, Outsourcing projects significant savings from consolidating multiple complex enterprise applications, reducing system administration and moving from an external hosted service to its own virtualized cloud infrastructure based on the SPARC SuperCluster T4-4.
Due to its rapid expansion through mergers and acquisitions, Outsourcing required a SPARC T4-based consolidation platform for Oracle Database Enterprise Edition 11g R2 and Oracle Business Intelligence 11g in a highly integrated, engineered system.
The SPARC SuperCluster T4-4 combines Oracle’s SPARC T4-4 servers running Oracle Solaris 11 with the database optimization of Oracle Exadata, the accelerated processing ofOracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software, and the high throughput and availability of Oracle’s Sun ZFS Storage Appliance all on a high speed InfiniBand backplane in an integrated, centrally managed, high performance system.
Outsourcing selected the SPARC SuperCluster T4-4 running Oracle Solaris 11 based on its performance, scalability and high availability to simplify and integrate its IT infrastructure and ensure business continuity, as well as these key factors:
The SPARC SuperCluster T4-4 is a completely integrated engineered system optimized for Oracle software, including Oracle Database and Oracle Business Intelligence 11g, which provides excellent performance, helps reduce implementation and ongoing operational costs, and provides a single contact for support and service.
The SPARC SuperCluster T4-4 provides the scalability and capacity for future expansion as additional enterprise applications are migrated to the engineered system.
Outsourcing will be able to flexibly expand performance and storage capacity in the future by re-allocating resources, and purchasing software licenses by the core, thus enabling low initial investment and gradual investments along with the growth of the business.
Outsourcing also selected Oracle Business Intelligence 11g, to enable unified management and analysis of business data across their enterprise infrastructure.
