PRESS RELEASE

Cisco Live! Mexico: What Your Community Makes Possible through Cisco Networking Academy

Through the Certification: Possible program, Cisco Networking Academy students will have a chance to receive high-level mentoring during the weeks before the event

MEXICO CITY, 27 September, 2012 - Sixteen students from the Cisco Networking Academy™ in the Yucatán Peninsula will have the chance to practice and receive direct supervision from Cisco engineers in order to prepare themselves for the CCNA® certification. In addition, the 12 students with the best exam scores will have the opportunity to participate actively in Cisco Live! Mexico, held this year from November 6 to 8 in Cancun.
Students chosen from academies in Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo will receive direct supervision for over a month from Cisco engineers involved in the organization of Cisco Live! They will also be given the opportunity to take their certification exam by the end of October with the exam fee covered by the event.
The students chosen to participate in Certification: Possible at Cisco Live! México have already finished their full Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) training in the Networking Academy® program. In order to be considered for the program they had to create a video explaining why they wanted to become a Certification Possible candidate.
The Networking Academy celebrates its 14th year in Mexico as one of the largest programs outside the United States, with more than 47,000 students in 388 academies nationwide.  In the Yucatán Peninsula there are more than 25 academies.
The courses required of the participants in Certification: Possible are either CCNA Discovery or CCNA Exploration. Both courses prepare students for the CCNA certification; CCNA Discovery provides an overview of general networking theory and opportunities for practical experience, career exploration, and soft-skills development; CCNA Exploration provides a comprehensive overview of foundational to advanced networking concepts, with an emphasis on theory and practical application.
