PLAINFIELD, IND. -
The Duke Energy Foundation has awarded $40,000 to the Hamilton County Economic Development Corporation to help support efforts to attract jobs and businesses to the area.
The funds will help carry out the organization’s “Position of Excellence” strategic marketing plan, which includes a Business Intelligence Center, providing easy access to various databases, as well as workforce, real estate and demographic statistics. The information will help promote the county’s communities as attractive locations for business development.
“Economic development is a key focus area for our foundation’s giving,” said Bill Petranoff, Duke Energy Indiana economic development manager. “We are proud to take a leading role in fostering economic growth for the communities we serve.”
“The communities in our county are attractive to site selectors and corporate decision-makers, but our research shows they are not aware of our attributes,” said Tim Monger, president and CEO of the Hamilton County Economic Development Corporation. “Some of those attributes include a talented and educated workforce, easy access to interstate highways, and close proximity to world-class higher education. We appreciate Duke Energy’s willingness to help strengthen our efforts to communicate those characteristics and increase our research capabilities to attract new investment and jobs.”
