TPP Selects Accenture to Implement Patient Record System Across Community and Children’s Hospitals in Southern England
New system aims to improve care delivery and patient outcomes with connected healthcare

LONDON; Dec. 21, 2012 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been selected by The Phoenix Partnership (TPP) to implement a patient administration system across nine community health systems and children’s hospitals for the National Health Services (NHS) in southern England. Under the multi-million dollar agreement, Accenture and TPP will create a single electronic patient record system that will enable clinicians to access and exchange health information across community, primary and acute care settings.

Accenture will work with the Trusts in the Southern Community & Child Health Procurement consortium to deploy the TPP SystmOne solution and will provide application integration, hosting, deployment and ongoing support for the platform. In addition, Accenture and TPP will implement functionality to support community services, community hospitals, minor injuries units and child health, including e-prescribing during 2013 and 2014.

“We are delighted to have been selected to help support community and child health service providers across southern England,” said Jim Burke, managing director for Accenture’s health business in the United Kingdom. “With the combination of TPP’s proven and reliable technology and Accenture’s implementation experience, patients of all ages across southern England will see the benefits that connected health can provide."

Currently, the NHS has more than 120,000 clinicians that are actively using TPP’s SystmOne to access and exchange 26 million records across 2,000 provider practices, 53 children health units, 58 community care organizations and 140 prisons. With this announcement, SystmOne is now being used by its first acute trust and social care clients in England.

“We’ve been dedicated to working on this new procurement over the last few months,” said Frank Hester, managing director for TPP. “To be told we’re the successful bidder for these contracts is fantastic and we look forward to working closely with the providers in a way that enables connected care to become a reality for so many new communities across the South.”

The Southern Community & Child Health Procurement consortium includes nine NHS community health systems in southern England, which extends from Kent in the East to Cornwall in the West.
