FLORENCE, ITALY — July 20, 2015—GE Oil & Gas (NYSE: GE) announces today a new contract with CLH Group to provide remote monitoring and diagnostics for its centrifugal pump fleet in its plants in Mora, Adamuz, Loeches, Monzalbarba and Torrejon in Spain. The deal will introduce the first remote centrifugal pump monitoring to be applied in those facilities, optimizing machine performance with analytics.
The 24/7 system will collect and transfer data from CLH sites to the GE Oil & Gas Monitoring and Diagnostics Center where we will continuously analyze the pumps’ performance, identify anomalies, and provide advisory services and actionable recommendations to optimize operations.
This will enable GE Oil & Gas to monitor and verify pump functionality and proactively identify potential issues to reduce failures and to increase machine availability for CLH.  GE’s specific knowledge and expertise as the original equipment manufacturer will be applied to the data acquired to plan effective maintenance and minimize equipment downtime.
“Deviations from required operating specifications can critically impact machine performance and, left unchecked, do excessive damage to both machines and systems” said Basilio Navarro, CLH’s General Manager, Technology and Innovation. “Early detection and management systems and the ability to monitor remotely can dramatically reduce the downtime and costs associated with machine damage”. The introduction of RM&D systems will enable CLH to centralize machine management and make it much more effective.
This project illustrates how oil and gas companies can leverage the  data acquired through condition monitoring – using sensors and advanced analytics – to improve uptime and reliability. 24/7 real time diagnostics drive asset performance management (APM), aimed at helping customers like CLH to optimize the performance of their assets to increase availability and extend asset life, minimize costs, reduce operational risks, and increase production to drive profitable growth.
“This project will introduce our OEM expertise and analytics into the operations of CLH Group’s plants, by providing them with remote monitoring and diagnostics to keep their pumping systems running better and longer. We believe these kinds of arrangements can really help customers like CLH realize better value in their processes and we look forward to getting the system running and starting to see results in the coming months,” said Roberto Baccani, General Manager of Pumps, Valves and Systems (PVS) business, GE Oil & Gas.
