MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 2, 2014 —FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) has been named a recipient of the 2014 CIO 100 Award from IDG's CIO magazine. The 27th annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).

“FedEx is honored to be named a 2014 CIO 100 Award recipient,” said Raj Subramaniam, executive vice president of Marketing and Communications at FedEx Services. “We are proud of FedEx Delivery Manager for the flexibility it offers our customers, and we are grateful for the recognition of the many team members who helped to bring this service to market.”

FedEx Delivery Manager, launched in 2013, is a service that offers U.S residential customers  a range of options to schedule dates, locations and times of delivery. Historically, delivery had been defined exclusively by the shipper. By signing up at fedex.com/delivery, customers can receive notification of FedEx Express and FedEx Ground packages en route to their homes, and can choose various delivery options.  Sign up is free.  Some options, including scheduling deliveries for a specific date, or time, or to another address are available for a nominal fee.  Customers can also actively track and manage the deliveries en route to or from their home without a tracking number or even a FedEx account.

It was one of the largest and most complex service-oriented projects in the company’s history. In addition to leading to a comprehensive solution for customers, the development process also led to a first-of-its-kind testing program, impacting multiple FedEx operating companies, business units, development and testing teams.

Executives from the winning companies will be recognized at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards Ceremony, to be held August 19, 2014.

About the CIO 100
The recipients of this year's CIO 100 award were selected through a three-step process. First, companies filled out an online application form detailing their innovative IT and business initiatives. Next, a team of judges reviewed the applications in depth, looking for unique practices and substantial results. Finally, CIO editors reviewed the judges' recommendations and voted on the final 100.

Complete coverage of the 2014 CIO 100 awards will be online at www.cio100.com  on August 1, 2014 and in the August 1st issue of CIO magazine.
