Furniture Row Improves Customer Experience with Oracle Commerce Solution
“Responsive Design” E-Commerce Site Uses Oracle ATG Web Commerce to Adapt to Any Mobile, Tablet, Television or Desktop Device
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. – June 24, 2013
News Facts
Because Denver Mattress customers often research items online before they buy, either at home or via a mobile device in the store, parent company Furniture Row has leveragedOracle ATG Web Commerce, a component of Oracle Commerce, to help make sure the experience is a good one.
Furniture Row is using ATG Web Commerce to personalize content and recommendations, deliver cross-channel promotions and enable a “responsive design” that optimizes the site for the consumer’s desktop or mobile device.
The e-commerce upgrade is part of a larger initiative to drive store traffic and increase sales across Denver Mattress stores in 30 states.
Denver Mattress Provides Advanced Search
The newly upgraded Denver Mattress e-commerce site uses ATG Web Commerce to tailor recommendations based on available information such as where consumers link from, responses to promotions, previous site visits and transactions.
Furniture Row is using the ATG platform to improve customer service and increase sales by presenting Denver Mattress customers with personalized content and customized search options based on previous interactions and purchases, location and other factors.
In addition, Furniture Row is leveraging the solution’s ability to immediately recognize the type of device a consumer is using, whether it is a cinema display television, a computer, tablet or smart phone, and then optimize the display for the screen.
The new Denver Mattress site is part of Furniture Row’s broader Oracle footprint, in which the retailer uses Oracle ATG Web Commerce solutions for all of its e-commerce operations including: the main Furniture Row site, Sofa Mart, Oak Express, Bedroom Expressions, The Linen Shoppe, and Furniture Row® Racing.
Behind the scenes, ATG Web Commerce helps Furniture Row e-commerce teams to support many sites with single platform and efficient staffing.
Each brand’s merchandising and marketing teams use the intuitive, easy-to-use ATG Web Commerce tools and interface to simplify content management, visually merchandise and develop and implement promotions.
As Furniture Row continues to drive growth, the retailer expects to leverage Oracle’s scalable commerce platform to continue to optimize e-commerce operations and personalize the customer experience across all of its brands.
Supporting Quotes
“Customers browse merchandise and compare items using their mobile phones right from the showroom floor, or they start their research at home before they come in,” said Noah Linge, Director of Digital Marketing, Furniture Row. “We want to make that as easy as possible for them, to help them identify what they want, no matter where they are or what device they are using. We considered creating multiple applications for different consumer devices but we didn’t want to have that extra step.”
“Furniture Row is among the first retailers to leverage the Oracle ATG Web Commerce functionality to launch a fully responsive site that literally will adapt to any consumer device,” said Mike Webster, senior vice president and general manager, Oracle Retail. “Oracle is committed to helping retailers optimize the customer experience across all touchpoints.
