GE Measurement & Control Unveils New Customer Application Center in Houston
State-of-the-Art Facility Offers Interactive Customer Experiences in a Real-World Industrial Environment
HOUSTON—September 24, 2012—GE (NYSE: GE) today announced the grand opening of its new, state-of-the-art Customer Application Center (CAC) in Houston. At an invitation-only ribbon cutting ceremony, customers will tour the facility and experience the complete GE Measurement & Control product portfolio installed in a real-world industrial environment to simulate the most demanding applications across the oil, gas and power generation industries.
This new Customer Application Center comes on the heels of anannouncement that GE Oil & Gas has invested $10 million in the development of a new Oil & Gas Training Facility in Houston to support and advance training and development for its customers and employees. Scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2012, the 50,000-square-foot facility will be GE’s premier oil & gas training facility in the US and will create approximately 100 new technical jobs in Houston. Located at GE’s Drilling Systems Technology Center, the new facility will continue to drive competitiveness in the region and reinforces Houston’s claim to the title of “energy capital of the world.
The newly minted Houston Customer Application Center facility will showcase how GE Measurement & Control products and services work together to optimize plant operations, maximize the value of equipment, enable successful expansion with on-time projects and lower long-term maintenance expenses. At the CAC, GE customers can participate in training sessions, demonstrations and customization exercises through a series of interactive interfaces and multimedia presentations designed to address their unique needs. On-site GE domain experts offer one-on-one support, helping customers to operate safely while maximizing plant uptime and efficiency.
