Concentrix Expands Presence in Portugal

Opens new delivery center in Matosinhos



MATOSINHOS, PORTUGAL - MAY 28, 2015  Concentrix Corporation is boosting its presence in northwest Portugal with the opening of a new delivery center in Porto, the country's second largest city. Concentrix will deliver high-value business services and will draw on the area's talented labor pool for future hires.  

"This new center reflects our strategy to grow existing accounts as well as invest in growth-oriented regions, including Europe," said Chris Caldwell, Concentrix President. Concentrix has operated a delivery center in Braga, Portugal since 2008, and is one of the city's largest employers. Within an hour of coastal Porto and Braga are approximately 2 million people, and the region is served by excellent public transportation, highways and rail, as well as several leading universities.

Ahmed Aboulezz, Portugal Country Leader for Concentrix, emphasized that Concentrix is excited to recruit through Porto's highly educated workforce and benefit from its ability to speak Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, and more. "This quality will be an asset for anyone looking to work in customer service, as one of our key objectives is to hire local qualified people," Aboulezz said.

The Concentrix facility is in a modern, eight-story building that is approximately eight years old. It has a capacity of 1,200 people, with commercial space on the lower floors. "This is a prime facility for our business, and the fact that we're here is an outstanding example of the cooperation that employers and government can achieve in furthering the local economy," Aboulezz said.  

Guilherme Pinto, Mayor of Matosinhos, added: "This is a very important investment, not only because it creates at one time 500 jobs, but also because it brings new life to the city center of Matosinhos."

The Mayor of Braga, Ricardo Rio, which recently named Concentrix as Corporate Ambassador of the City, said that the company has a positive impact on the local economy and praised the "Concentrix social responsibility policies regarding its staff and the community in which it operates," emphasizing the fact that Concentrix "takes part in the social and cultural life of the city."
