Local Syracuse Students Compete in Junior Achievement Workshop Sponsored by Carrier and United Technologies | Advancing STEM Education | Community | Corporate Responsibility | United Technologies

High school students from the Syracuse City School District and Liverpool Central School District recently participated in a Junior Achievement Workplace Skills Challenge at Onondaga Community College.

The event, "JA You’re Hired!" sponsored by Carrier and United Technologies, challenged the students to put to the test the skills learned in the JA Career Success® in-class program held previously. Over a dozen Carrier employees volunteered their time in the classroom to provide activities designed to teach young people the importance of critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration in today’s 21st century workplace, and interacted with the students at the event as they participated in team building and networking challenges.
