David Simon, the creator of the HBO drama "The Wire" -- one of the most well-known portrayals of Baltimore -- has pleaded for an end to the violence in the city.
Simon wrote a brief post on Monday on his blog "The Audacity of Despair" about the widespread unrest in the city stemming from the death of Freddie Gray, an African-American man who died while in police custody.
