Entergy Begins 3rd Project to Keep Dayton’s Power Reliable

Motorists Urged to Drive Cautiously in Work Areas

Dayton, Texas – Entergy Texas, Inc. has completed two service reliability projects here and yet another is beginning.
The latest project is set to begin Monday, Dec. 22, and will involve trimming vegetation away from a 42-mile-long power line that serves some 2,150 customers in the Dayton area. The boundaries within which the work will take place are roughly Highway 90 to the south, West Woodland Hills Drive to the north, Highway 321 to the west and Dayton’s Main Street to the east. Texas, Inc.
The power line is served by the Dayton Substation at 511 Highway 146 South. Work is expected to last about four months, ending by April.
“Vegetation grows very quickly and densely in Southeast Texas so it’s essential to keep it trimmed away from power lines to help ensure a safe, reliable supply of power for customers,: said Ron Fletcher, customer service representative for the area. Fletcher added that drivers should be alert and drive cautiously when approaching work areas.
Entergy Texas, Inc. provides electricity to more than 426,000 customers in 27 counties. It is a subsidiary of Entergy Corporation.
