Newhouse is a shelter for the victims of domestic violence and domestic abuse located in Kansas City, Missouri.
Many of the women who arrive at Newhouse arrive with their children. While Newhouse has an abundance of diapers in smaller sizes, there is a shortage of diapers in larger (4, 5 and 6) sizes.
Diapers in larger sizes are needed because, in some cases, the violent situation at home did not permit proper potty training. In other cases, the children were successfully potty trained, but the trauma of domestic violence caused the children to regress.
Newhouse is conducting a 45-day campaign to raise $5,000 for the purchase of diapers in larger sizes.
A donation of as little as $10 will help provide for one of the children's most basic needs while their mothers put their lives back together.
