The FBI Violent Crime Task Force needs the public’s help to capture an armed trio of bank robbers who exchanged gunfire with a bank security guard during an attempted robbery of the Golden Bank branch located at 6623 FM 1960 West in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. The FBI is releasing bank surveillance photos depicting two of the robbers and the getaway car. Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a reward of up to $5,000 in the case.
At approximately 10:30 a.m., two armed men got out of a dark-colored, four-door sedan and ran towards the bank. Witnesses also observed a third man exit the car, but he remained alongside the vehicle while the others approached the bank. A security guard was alerted and, as the armed robbers attempted to enter the bank’s lobby, he fired his weapon. The armed robbers exchanged gunfire, and then retreated back to their getaway car without any cash. It is unknown if any of the robbers were hit by the gunfire. No bank employees were physically hurt during the exchange.
The bank robbers are described as black males, 20 to 25 years old, 5’0” to 5’5” tall with thin builds. The two who approached the bank wore gray hooded jackets and dark-colored pants. One of the men was armed with a long gun with a curved magazine; the other with a handgun. All three men fled the area in a dark-colored, possibly dark green, four-door sedan with temporary tags. They were last seen turning right onto FM 1960 West and then made another right onto Shiloh Street.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and arrest of these robbers.
