Press release:

Ingram Micro Associates Raise Record Funds at 17th Annual East Coast Charity Golf Tournament
Aug 29, 2012 (Marketwire via COMTEX) --Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSEIM) and its associates once again showed their commitment to the local Buffalo community by raising more than $250,000 at the distributor's 17th Annual East Coast Charity Golf Tournament. The event, which benefitted five local charitable organizations, was held earlier this month at The Links at Ivy Ridge in Akron, N.Y.
"Our annual golf tournament reflects on the longstanding Ingram Micro tradition of giving back to the communities in which we work and live," said Tom Bamrick, executive director, east and global sales, Ingram Micro North America. "The annual outing is a fun way to bring our associates and business partners together in support of local charities. When companies and communities work closely together for a good cause, it can have a huge impact, encouraging a spirit of wellness."
With the help of Ingram Micro business partners and sponsors, the tournament awarded five local charities with donations ranging from $20,000 to $40,000. Those charities included:

  • The Anthony V. Mannino Foundation will use the funds to financially assist young adults, ages 18-34, while they are undergoing cancer treatment.
  • Cradle Beach will use its donation to replace a company van that transports disabled children participating in their camps.
  • Danceability will replace dance floors and purchase accessories for those in its "Sensory Rooms" program that serves both adults and children with special needs.
  • Gerard Place will renovate its gymnasium to make it a safer place to have children participate in character building activities that are part of its housing program for homeless single parent families.
  • Theatre of Youth will renovate its theatre and improve its sound system at the location where more than 50,000 children participate and see plays each year.

The 2012 Ingram Micro East Coast Charity Golf Tournament drew 148 golfers, including Ingram Micro executives, associates, customers and vendors, as well as more than 50 associate volunteers. The event was sponsored by 35 of Ingram Micro's strategic vendors and manufacturers including Add-On Computer, Cisco, D-Link, Ergotron, HP, Intel, Juniper Networks, MaintenanceNet and Wells Fargo. Ingram Micro also held a silent auction to raise additional funds for the local charities.
At the annual awards ceremony, Marty Battaglia, senior director of sales for Ingram Micro and the event organizer for the past seven years, praised the generosity of both Ingram Micro associates and the distributor's vendor partners, who together have raised more than $1 million for local Buffalo charities over the past few years.
"Ingram Micro and its associates take great pride in being a part of the Buffalo community and are honored to help our local charities make a difference in the lives of those in need," says Battaglia.
