Johnson Controls’ joint venture in China receives Volvo Cars Quality Excellence Award
Automotive supplier recognized for its quality performance
PLYMOUTH, Mich. (Nov. 2, 2015) – Chongqing Yanfeng Johnson Controls Automotive Components Co., Ltd. (“CQYFJC”), one of Johnson Controls’ major automotive seating joint ventures in China, has been honored with Volvo Cars Quality Excellence (VQE) Award.
CQYFJC’s new Chengdu plant was recognized for its outstanding quality performance delivered in Volvo S60L and Volvo XC60 Seating projects. The plant successfully achieved “excellent” ratings in 11 performance indexes of the VQE Award, such as manufacturing processes, lean production and logistics, for more than three consecutive months.
“It is an honor to be recognized with such a prestigious award,” said Joe Wang, CQYFJC general manager. “Volvo Cars is an important global customer. We will continue to focus on exceeding our customers’ expectations, and provide the customer with our best products and services.”
Formed in October 2003, CQYFJC is a Johnson Controls joint venture partnership with Shanghai Yanfeng Johnson Controls Seating Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Bo’ao Industry Co., Ltd. The company supplies a full range of automotive components, including metal structures, foam, head restraints, trim, and overhead systems, as well as complete seat systems. Its technology center has been an important part of Johnson Controls’ global engineering network, providing a full set of capabilities, including innovation, industrial design, benchmarking, advanced engineering, product development, prototyping, finite element analysis and testing. With approximately 3,000 employees and 10 manufacturing plants across China, CQYFJC supplies many global and Chinese automakers, including Volvo, Changan, Changan Ford, Changan Suzuki, Changan PSA, and Beijing Auto Yinxiang.
