Accenture Named to Working Mother’s 100 Best Companies List for 13th Consecutive Year
NEW YORK; Sept. 25, 2015 – For the 13th consecutive year, Working Mother has named Accenture (NYSE: ACN) to its Best Companies list, which spotlights organizations that effectively support working parents and their families.
This year’s list recognizes Accenture for doubling its parental leave in the U.S. Accenture now offers up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave for the company’s full-time and part-time women and eight weeks for primary caregivers.
“This recognition by Working Mother is a testament to the way we are helping our working parents manage the demands of work and family,” said Julie Sweet, Accenture’s group chief executive – North America and the company’s Working Mother of the Year. “Creating an environment that supports our people over the course of their careers and enabling them to thrive personally and professionally is one of our top priorities.”
The company recently introduced several new programs for working parents, including one that allows primary caregivers to work locally for the first year after returning from parental leave, rather than traveling to out-of-town assignments.
“On behalf of Accenture, I’d like to thank Working Mother for their continued acknowledgement of our work to provide our people the opportunities to make the right decisions for their careers and families,” said Ellyn Shook, Accenture’s chief human resources officer. “We are committed to listening to them to shape our benefits based on what they want.”
