Air Products News Release:

Air Products to Feature Its Range of Industrial Gas Supply Options and Advanced Gas Technologies at PTXi 2014

April 24, 2014 Lehigh Valley, Pa.
Air Products (NYSE:APD) will highlight its range of industrial gas supply options and advanced gas technologies, which can help manufacturers increase process efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality and safety, at PTXi 2014 in Rosemont, Ill., from May 6-8.

PTXi attendees are invited to stop by booth 3018 to learn about Air Products’ broad range of industrial gases―including nitrogen, oxygen, and argon―which are available in a variety of safe and reliable delivery options to match each customer’s specific requirements. For small-volume users, the company offers a microbulk solution that eliminates the hassle of cylinder handling and change-out. For large-volume customers, Air Products provides traditional bulk liquid and gas supply, as well as its PRISM® on-site gas generation systems. The company also has a fast and flexible option for emergency or short-term gas supply needs through its Air Products Express Services.

As a leading industrial gas supplier and advanced solutionsprovider, Air Products’ technical specialists can work with manufacturers to help improve efficiency and safety in many processes, including cryogenic grinding, process cooling, inerting/blanketing for both combustible dust and flammable liquid processing, gas assist molding, and more. For manufacturers who are looking to use cryogenic grinding, the company can provide a number of solutions from consultative services to turn-key offerings that cover everything from design to installation of a complete cryogrinding system. Air Products also has a testing lab in Allentown, Pa. where the company can run product on production-scale equipment to help manufacturers determine the feasibility of using cryogenics in their processes, quantify the cost versus benefits of using cryogenics, and optimize cryogrinding operations.

Air Products offers additional services such as computational modeling, safety training, and engineering and consulting services during project design, start-up, and ongoing operation. With a strong computational modeling center, the company can help manufacturers improve their processes using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Kinetics and Reactor Modeling, and other programs for the early conceptual studies of new designs, detailed product development, scale-up, troubleshooting, or system retrofitting. CFD can be particularly useful when designing inerting systems for combustible dust protection.

Also at PTXi, Air Products’ applications manager, Nancy Easterbrook, will participate in a panel discussion addressing “Common Challenges in Chemical Handling” on Wednesday, May 7, from 3:15-4:45 p.m. In addition, Dr. Xiaoyi He, research associate, will be part of a keynote technology panel that will discuss “Computational Fluid Dynamics in Today’s Bulk Solids Handling” on Thursday, May 8, from 9-10 a.m. Both sessions will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.
