Johnson Controls recognized globally by Dow Jones Sustainability Indices
The only North American company in the Automobiles & Components sector acknowledged for its sustainability efforts on the World Index
MILWAUKEE, Sept. 15, 2015 - Johnson Controls announced today its inclusion on both the World and North America Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for 2015. This is the 11th consecutive year Johnson Controls has been named to both DJSI indices.
Launched in 1999, the DJSI World is the first global index to track the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide based on RobecoSAM’s analysis of financially material Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors. RobecoSAM invited the world’s largest 3,400 companies from developed and emerging markets to take part in its annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). This year, RobecoSAM assessed 85% of the invited universe’s free float market capitalization, for the DJSI review.
Johnson Controls, a global multi-industrial company, is the only North American company under the Automobiles & Components category named to the World Index, and the only company in that category named to the North America Index consecutively.
“Inclusion on these indices recognizes our diligence to drive sustainability across our operations and through our supply chain,” said Grady Crosby, vice president public affairs and chief diversity officer. “Sustainability is at the core of our ongoing strategies to compete in the markets we choose to be in.”
