Accenture and P&G Win ‘Most Innovative’ Outsourcing Excellence Award For Commercial Services Collaboration
NEW YORK; July 1, 2013 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG) have won the Outsourcing Excellence Award in the “Most Innovative” category by Outsourcing Center, the leading resource of outsourcing best-practice information. The award recognizes Accenture’s and Procter & Gamble’s (P&G) collaboration on a commercial services program in which Accenture manages P&G’s digital marketing campaigns, e-retailer content and virtual reality centers.
“This award is a testament to the teamwork between Accenture and P&G and the innovative approach and solutions delivered jointly by our two companies,” said Marco Ziegler, a managing director in Accenture’s Consumer Goods & Services practice and lead for Accenture’s work at P&G. “This commercial services program is helping P&G realize greater agility and flexibility in the front office and enabling it to meet its changing business needs more effectively, drive improved productivity and innovation, accelerate the start-up of new services and realize lower IT costs. Our work at P&G underscores Accenture’s focus on providing business services that help companies increase sales and margins through an end-to-end offering of management consulting, technology and outsourcing.”
The award was presented to Accenture and P&G at the 17th Annual Outsourcing Excellence Awards event in Irving, TX on Thursday, May 9.
By engaging Accenture to manage and deliver key front office services, P&G is able to focus on its core business strategy, while scaling Accenture’s level of delivery up and down as required.
Accenture is helping to deliver the following services across P&G:
- Digital Marketing: Accenture’s Consumer Goods & Services practice and Accenture Interactive provide project management services to the delivery of P&G’s digital marketing strategy, launching and managing the company’s digital marketing campaigns and brand websites around the world. For example, Accenture managed the internet sites, applications and home page features across more than 30 markets to help P&G execute its popular Thank You Mom campaign during the XXX Summer Olympics.
- Virtual Solutions: Accenture manages the design and development of P&G’s virtual reality services and 3D store environments, creates and integrates digital content for virtual reality solution centers, provides virtual reality software platform development and maintenance, and manages third-party facility and technology vendors
- “Decision Cockpit” and Reporting Management Services: Accenture provides production management services for P&G’s decision “cockpits” across the entire Company and all of its businesses. These decision cockpits are a network of information portals covering different communities within the P&G enterprise.
- Project Management as a Service (PMaaS): Accenture provides scaled tools and solutions to help enable more effective and efficient Project and Initiative Management capability within P&G, helping reduce development costs and overall speed to market.
