At a Senate HELP committee hearing on the consequences of a change in the standard, U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, R-Ga., who chairs the subcommittee on Employment and Workplace Safety, said NLRB’s proposed change to the definition of “joint-employer” could destroy a business model that has allowed middle class Americans to live the dream of business ownership, including the 700,000 small businesses in the U.S. supporting more than 17 million jobs.
