Bangalore
India, November 5, 2012Call for Papers Now Open, following the success of 1st JUDCon in India last January
Red Hat, Inc., the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today announced it plans to host India’s second JBoss User and Developers Conference (JUDCon) January 17-18, 2013 at the NIMHANS Convention Center in Bangalore.
“Following a successful first run of APAC’s first JUDCon in India last January, we're thrilled to be able to bring one of the world's premier developer conferences to India yet again next year,” said Dr. Mark Little, vice president, Middleware Engineering, Red Hat. “Some of the best open source developers are based in India and the surrounding regions and it would be fantastic for these developers to congregate, engage in lively discussions, and find out about the latest goings-on with the JBoss Community and the open source community yet again.”
According to a 2011 study on Global Developer Population and Demographics by Evans Data Corporation, the number of software developers worldwide is expected to grow from 16 million today to more than 20 million in 2015, with the hottest areas for growth projected to be in India, China and Russia. By 2015, India is expected to surpass the United States with more than 3.5 million professional software developers.
The Bangalore event, which is set to be the third JUDCon in Asia Pacific in 12 months following JUDCon 2012: India (January 2012) and JUDCon 2012: China (November 2012), is scheduled to span two days and feature three tracks packed with valuable sessions. Presentations at JUDCon include a range of deep perspectives into JBoss technologies and related topics of user and developer interest.

The JBoss Users and Developers Conferences are developer gatherings held around the globe to give JBoss technology users, contributors and core developers the opportunity to learn, network and collaborate with one another.
Core JBoss technology developers, along with the broader open source community, create and support projects that drive innovation and help lead development in standards bodies like the Java Community Process, the Apache Software Foundation, OASIS, W3C and other open standards organizations. Many of these projects are the upstream technology for Red Hat's JBoss Enterprise Middleware products.
JBoss is a leader in cutting-edge open source technology for developers worldwide because it gives developers choice, and helps them be more productive. Red Hat’s broad product portfolio is largely based on the Java EE platform but contains technologies such as the Arquillian project to accelerate testing, the Snowdrop project for Spring integration, the TorqueBox project to enable the ease of Ruby with the performance of enterprise Java, and other projects that give developers JVM-hosted languages including Scala, Clojure, and Ceylon which let developers easily tap into the power of the Java EE platform.
